Our Area and Links of Interest.

Kootenay Forge is situated in Crawford Bay, a little hamlet on the shores of Kootenay Lake in south-eastern British Columbia. It is an area renowned for its natural beauty and also its artists and craftspeople. We invite you to visit us if you are in the area. Within walking distance of our shop there are a Broommaker, a Glassblower, a Copper Enamelist, a Pottery studio, a Jeweller, a Woodworker, a Weaving studio, and even a Wizard Maker. Local establishments also display works by local artists.

In our gallery you will see all the items in this catalogue plus other one-of-a-kind pieces. You are welcome to watch us work and learn a little about this age-old craft. Our workshop is always open to the public. Our gallery features not only all our products, but also the work of FireWorks Enamelled Copper and Breathless Glass, whose studios are also located in the same building. The three crafts of blacksmithing, glassblowing and fusing copper and glass all have one thing in common - we like it hot!

We are open every day from May 1st until mid-October, and most weekdays during the winter months. Please phone our retail shop for hours if you are passing through during our quiet season at 250.227.9467.

You can learn lots more about our area by visiting the Kootenay Lake Chamber of Commerce website.

Crawford Bay is also home to the renowned Kokanee Springs Golf Resort, and this general area, known as "The East Shore" , offers lots of recreational opportunities. We have a variety of accommodations and eating establishments.

We are also on the Selkirk Loop, a 450 km (280 miles) scenic circle route, which is North America's only multi-state, multi-country scenic byway. This beautiful drive travels through parts of Washington, Idaho, and British Columbia.
